Theory:
Chon-Ji Tul (19 movements)
Chon-Ji means literally “the Heaven the Earth”. It is, in the Orient, interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history, therefore, it is the initial pattern played by the beginner. This pattern consists of two similar parts; one to represent the Heaven and the other the Earth.
Yellow Belt
Yellow signifies the Earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the Taekwon-Do foundation is being laid.

What is Taekwon-Do?

What are the sections of the body?
High section - From the top of the shoulders to the top of the head
Middle section - From the umbilicus to the top of the shoulder
Low section - All areas lower than the umbilicus
A high block is when the highest point of the blocking tool is at the same level as the eyes of the defender
A middle block is when the highest point of the blocking tool is at the same level as the shoulder of the defender
A low block defends against an attack aimed below the umbilicus
What is the significance in the way Taekwon-Do is written on the back of the Dobok?
It represents the Evergreen Tree which never sheds its leaves and always shows its true colours. In the same manner a student of Taekwon-Do is expected to aspire to always be at his or her best.
Give a basic explanation of sine wave (hwaldung pahdo)?
The body should relax at the beginning of all movements. The centre of gravity is raised allowing for the creation of potential energy which can be converted to kinetic (in movement) energy by dropping, thus increasing the power of the technique.
